Fall is in the Air

Today totally felt like fall! The cool weather, pulling out my boots and making orange and brown skirts:) Here is what I made for Amaree:

And here is her showing it off for me.

Too funny not to show:)
The orange fabric is a fat quarter I bought for a $1 at walmart and the brown is from a 5 yard bolt that I got at Walmart for $5. I used more of that fabric to make a cute fabric pumpkin. I got the tutorial from Danielle Thompson on thompsonfamily.typepad.com.
I am going to make at least 4 more in various sizes.:)
Here is more of Amaree and the pumpkin

For my mama

Alright, this post is specifically for mia madre. She is redecorating her whole upstairs (pretty much) and needed some ideas for artwork/decor for each room. I told her I would find awesome examples of DIY artwork that I would happily make for her:) I LOVE doing this type of thing!! So here it goes:
First up fabric flower artwork by Make it and Love it.

It is complete with tutorials on how to make each type of flower as well as how to put fabric inside the frames:) Incredibly easy and cute! Ashley has a million other ideas on her blog that are just as adorable. Go to  www.makeit-loveit.com to check out her tutorials:)
This next one is from lemontreecreations.blogspot.com. It is a simple wooden board with a quote. Very easy but I just love this one!

Another day at yard sale-ing

Today my sweet husband and daughter accompanied me to the yard sales. First stop was a bust. Second one was a gold mine. I had more than just a dollar this time too! This is what I got:
Silky bolt of fabric. My guess is about 10-15 yards  for $3.00

Mini easel + mini clipboard below = $0.25

About 2 yards of this gorgeous white fabric (picture doesn't do it justice!) for $2.50. This is just like the fabric used in my moms fancy table linens.

2 yards of white tulle $0.25

Mini jar/canister for $0.25
Add it all up it comes to $6.25! Not bad at all:)

Yard Sale-ing

Yesterday I saw a MILLION yard sale signs and just had to go to at least one! All I had was $1 in my wallet so I was going to get the best I could for just one dollar:) I took Amaree with me so it was a lot harder than it sounds. Here is what I bought:
A yard of fleece, rubber duckie fabric for $0.25

This beautiful white vase/candlestick holder for $0.50
Amaree also got a Sponge Bob Square Pants action figure for $0.10 and a toy car for free (the lady gave it to her because she was "just too cute to resist".) So add it all up and it actually only came to $0.85. I am saving that extra 15 cents for next Saturday!:)
